Intensive Freshman Seminars

Student Staff

Student staff members play a critical role in helping new freshmen adjust to campus by showing them what it takes to succeed at IU. Each fall we recruit IFS alumni and other student leaders to help with behind-the-scenes details of the next summer’s IFS.

In return for their help, staff members gain experience in a significant student leadership role. Staff members also develop a deeper connection to the University by working as representatives of IU and of IFS. In addition, they have a great deal of fun working with other staff members, the faculty, and the new freshmen!

IFS Student Staff Positions

All staff members work together as a team to support the academic experience, to engage new students, and to build community in a variety of ways. In addition, many staff members may be asked to work closely with one or more IFS faculty to provide direct support for their classes.
